Reconsidering
I miss parts of my job for sure. But I really miss the people. Nine years allows you to know others pretty well and be known.
I hope I didn’t make a huge mistake.
Could Be
I’m pretty sure this is what our blog would look like should mdog and I ever join forces.
Thanks to Paul for sending the link.
The Adventure Begins
Today is the first day I’ve been without full-time work since June 2000. Maya and I had breakfast together this morning (Krispy Kremes in celebration of this new beginning) and went into town to pick up a few groceries.
When we arrived home, I set the groceries down on the counter and took a few items out to the trash. We had a small party last night and several things were still out around the kitchen – including some seasonings. Back to the trash. I leave the house just long enough to walk to the trash can on the other side of our garage. When I come back in, Maya has this horrible look on her face. I immediately notice the open jar of garlic powder as Maya begins to gag.
Nice.
Fortunately, she didn’t actually throw up. I gave her some tea and told her to lay down on the couch.
The best part of this story happened as I began to compose this post. Maya turned to me and said, “Mom, something smells bad in here. Oh! Nevermind. It’s just me from eating that stuff.”
And to think I was worried about being bored. Ha.
VBS Fairy Sighting
Dear VBS Fairy,
I’d like to publicly thank you for the weird crap gift you left stuck to my car door today while I was working. Vegetarian-friendly, calorie-free. Very frightening thoughtful. Please don’t ever visit me again!
Much love,
SJW

The VBS Fairy leaves a gift on my car door. Central VBS team, you rock.
